PrayerSample prayer used before all dialogues from 1994 onwards to invoke spiritual helpThis is an example of the kind of prayer or invocation I have always used to begin a dialogue since June, 1994, although on each occasion I say it to myself extempore rather than reading it from here or anywhere else. But it contains the essential elements: calling on God, requesting the help and presence of the Masters, and protection from any adverse influences not of the highest light, and asking my Higher Self to unite with my everyday self so that I can receive truth from him as purely as possible. The precise form has no doubt changed from session to session. When I first wrote this version of the prayer, I was very much into the Masters, as a result of channelling sessions I'd attended, especially that formative one given by the American channel Crea which started me on this entire phase of my spiritual development. I might well still call on the Masters, but I am slightly less intensely into the Masters now, and tend to put more focus on calling on Spirit (God, if you like) in the broadest sense, rather than partitioning it into pieces: this bit is Sananda, that bit Archangel Michael, and so on. The dialogues themselves will make clear this gradual change of focus. It is interesting that the Masters themselves, in some channellings, made it clear that this was the way Earth is evolving, seeing Spirit as a unified whole, rather than being split amongst different beings. But, with a few reservations of this sort, the following is an example of the kind of invocation I have used to start each session. I normally close each session with a prayer of thanks for help given, and closing off the psychic channels that presumably have been opened if my intention of channelling my Higher Self has been fulfilled. (Perhaps I cannot be sure I have channelled my Higher Self - but if this exercise is to mean anything at all I have to work on the basis that I have done so, and act accordingly.) Dear Mother/Father God, I, Michael Edwards, am sitting down now to draw near to my Higher Self, currently known to me as Bivalia. I ask for your divine love and protection, and ask that you help me accomplish this. I request the presence of Lord Sananda, Lady Mary, Lord Hilarion, Lord El Morya, Archangel Michael, Lord Kuthumi, Saint Germain, Lord Serapis Bey, Commander Ashtar, Lady Athena, and Wotanna, and give a warm invitation to any other Masters who wish to be present. I ask my Higher Self, Bivalia, to come through and to help me communicate with him through what I am about to write. Archangel Michael, I ask you to protect me from anything negative or false, so that, as far as possible, what I write might be true and upbuilding, and I ask that my Guides come near and offer their help. Beloved Mother/Father God, Masters, Bivalia, and other beings I have invoked, I ask you to help me overcome the chronic problem of unbelief I have about your very existence, and about everything spiritual. I ask your help in overcoming the lack of closeness I feel to you most of the time. It is my hope that channelling you, Bivalia, will help me overcome these limitations, and to the extent that I may sometimes express positive feelings that are not entirely factual in the here-and-now, I ask you to take that as an indication of what I would like to be able to feel genuinely. At other times, when I express negative beliefs, I ask that help be given in overcoming any attitudes or beliefs I find unhelpful, but at the same time I believe that when such feelings are present they should, in the interests of honesty and truth, be expressed frankly. At present, my intention is to channel Bivalia, my Higher Self. However, if any other beings of the Light would like to offer anything, I would be happy to write it down, and I will endeavour to be receptive enough to recognize when this is about to happen. I ask that any entities not of the Light be led lovingly into the Light; but if they choose not to embrace the Light, I ask that they be lovingly led away to somewhere more helpful for them than here. If through oversight or inexperience I have overlooked requesting something that in my own interests I should have done, I ask that you read my highest intentions and take those things as being requested by me. I now proceed in the assurance that all of you from whom I have requested help are with me, and I thank you all very much. I look forward to the day when I can be with you all consciously and share much love and fellowship with you all. Thank you, Mother/Father God, and thank you, Sananda, Mary, El Morya, Archangel Michael, Saint Germain, Kuthumi, Wotanna, Ashtar, Athena, Serapis Bey, and Hilarion (in no particular order).
